12th Annual FBE Apple Run
Join us on October 27th for a Halloween-themed run supporting Belmont Public Schools! We will also have a costume contest as part of the event.
About the Event
The FBE Apple 5K and 2K races celebrate education in Belmont. Proceeds from the run go to the Foundation for Belmont Education - a volunteer-led, 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to improving educational opportunities for students and teachers at the Belmont Public Schools. The FBE works with residents and businesses in Belmont, MA, to raise private funds that are used to enrich the education provided by the Belmont Public Schools. Belmont Runs for Education!

8:00 - 9:15 AM: 5K and 2K race-day registration and bib pick-up
9:00 AM: Dynamic Warm-up
9:30 AM: The Apple 5K
10:15 AM: 5K Awards Ceremony
10:45 AM: The Apple 2K
11:15 AM: 2K Awards Ceremony
The Course
The Apple 5K covers a scenic, 5-kilometer route through this historic Boston suburb starting and ending at the Belmont High School track on Concord Avenue. It features a flat course, accommodating all levels of runners and walkers.
The 2K is a timed race suitable for runners of all ages and abilities. It follows a flat, loop course starting on the Belmont track, running by Clay Pit Pond, and ending back at the track.
Awards and Post-Race Events
An awards ceremony will follow the completion of the 5K and 2K races. Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each race, as well as to top teams and best costume!

Race T-shirts
A short-sleeved Hi-Tec ('quik-dri') running shirt will be offered to the first 400 runners who register for the 5K or 2K race. Adult and youth sizes are available.
Team Registration
Join friends, family, neighbors, or teammates and register to run as a team! You can create a new team or join an existing one during the registration process. Each team needs at least 3 members. Prizes are awarded for the top female, male, and mixed gender teams for the Apple 5K.
Number Pick-Up
We strongly recommend picking up your bib (and t-shirt) on Saturday, October 26 at Chenery Upper Elementary School, car park entrance, 10am-2pm. Race bibs will be also be available for pickup at the Belmont High School track beginning at 8:00 AM on Sunday, October 27, but please allow extra time on race day, in case of long lines.
Directions and Parking
The Belmont High School Track is located on Concord Ave., adjacent to Belmont High School (221 Concord Ave.). The track can be easily reached by car and public transportation. Parking is available in school parking lots and on the streets near the school (please obey parking signs).
Chenery Upper Elementary (for bib and t-shirt pick up, and in person registration on 10/26/2024) is at 95 Washington Street, Belmont MA 02478.
About the FBE
The Foundation for Belmont Education (FBE) is a 501c3, independent, non-profit organization run by volunteers who are dedicated to improving education opportunities for Belmont's students and teachers.
The FBE awards grants for a diverse array of projects, from small grants that benefit a single classroom to large programs designed to benefit students in an entire grade or school. Grants are awarded in all school curriculum areas, as well as for special initiatives and professional development.
Since 1993, the FBE has awarded $4.25 million in grants to finance over 1,000 projects initiated and organized by principals, teachers, and staff.
